Dr. Matthew Coons
Family Dentist
Dr. Matthew Coons and his wife Amy were both born and raised in the north county of San Luis Obispo. After graduating from Paso Robles High School they went to college and became school teachers, returning to the central coast and teaching in Lompoc and then Paso Robles. Matt taught Spanish and is fluent, having lived in Chile as a missionary for his church for two years and having studied it in college.
Dr. Coons then went back to school and graduated from the University of Southern California School of Dentistry. He worked in Colorado for three years and then San Luis Obispo before buying Atascadero Family Dentistry.
Matt and Amy have five children and live in Templeton. Most of their time is dedicated to their kids’ sports and school work. When he isn’t on the sidelines of a field or in the stands, Matt enjoys surfing, hiking and camping.
